Captain America comics began in the early 1940's. He was an intentionally patriotic hero. Like Wonder Woman, Captain America was depicted fighting the Axis. Steve Rogers, the original altar ego to Captain America was killed in 2007, but the series lives on in publication with his former Sidekick Bucky taking the reins.

Before Captain America died in 2007, Captain America Comics had sold more than 210,000 copies. They continue to sell Captain America comics, with a sidekick taking the place of the deceased Captain. Captain America Comic books are a real favorite purchase.

The original Captain America Comics #1 issue was printed in 1941. In later years Captain America became the leader of the Avengers after they discovered his body in the Atlantic. Captain American is killed by a brain washed Sharon Carter in 2007.
